Hardware & Software for the new Millennium
X-Centric's
Futuristic Fusion Metrology Harware & Software packages
Start with the X-Centric fusion metrology hardware - sub-micron, multi-sensing
vision system. This cutting-edge hardware offers peak performance for Manual and CNC
Machines, Touch Probes, Laser Scanning and Segmented LED Lighting. Add the cutting-edge
X-Centric software and you'll get full advantages of X-Centric. With the X-Centric
software you can transform your existing profile projectors, vision systems, microscopes
and CMM.
X-Centric's Advantages
These progressive capabilities allow the user to obtain perfection. The
preciseness of the metrology packages and innovative software mean that operator can
obtain accurate results simply and easily. X-Centric provides:
Video Edge Detection
Video edge Detection (VED) ensures a repeatable result without relying
on the skill of the operator. Hundreds of data points can be taken in an instant to
calculate standard geometric features. Standard VED tools include arc, circle, line,
point, focus and curve.
Profile Scanning
The curved tool automatically traces the profile of an undefined
part. Then the resulting data-point cloud can be compared to a pre-tolerance
DXF master for a "best fit" analysis. Once fitted, the data points appear in either
red or green to indicate wheater in tolerance. in addition, conventional dimensions
can be applied to the scan.
Dimensional Part
View
Whether it's used with a profile projector or CMM, measured results are
displayed in the form of a fully-dimensioned drawing. Dimensions within the specified
tolerance are shown in green. Dimensions out-of-tolerance are shown in red for immediate
visual status of the measured part. Geometric tolerances can also be displayed using
standard drawing practice. The final dimensioned part view is printed as an engineering
drawing complete with company details, customer and part details, date and inspector's
name.
Easy Reporting
Detailed reports can be instantly created showing the feature name, nominal
dimension, actual, error, upper and lower limits, and a "green pass" or "red fail"
label for each measured dimension. Geometric tolerance details are displayed along
with a thumbnail view of the part and branch/customer information. The entire report
can easily be duplicated as an Excel workbook for email.
Touch Probe
The optional touch probe is used in conjuction with VED to take data points
in any direction. This is useful when measuring features that are out of the camera's
sight, or when features on the XZ or YZ plane must be related to features in the XY
plane. Now the whole part can be measured in 3D without the need for repositioning.
Other 3D geometric features like spheres, cones and cylinders can also be constructed
more easily. For multi-probe CNC applications, an auto-charge probe rack is used to
change stylus configurations mid-program.
Programmable
Segmented Light
Lighting is critical to ensure the correct edge is measured. The programmable
LED lighting head allows the user to define any segment pattern to be switched on
achieving oblique lighting conditionas to illuminate more difficult edges. Segments
can then be rotated and intensity varied to suit the radial position of the edge.
Once set, the lighting condition for each measured feature is now automatically programmed
and will be reproduced by the software each time a new part is measured. Optional
through the lens (TTL) lighting is offered for applications such as blind bore measurement.
64 white LEDs are used for a high-quality color image.
Laser Probe
Laser Scanning is a useful technique to rapidly collect thousands of
data points over surface of a component. A through the lens(TTL) con-focal laser directly
drives the CNC System. The results are a rapid non-contact scanning with auto parts
following.Simply set the scanning area and X-Centric's Z axis will tack the undulations
of the part automatically. The resulting data point cloud can then be exported for
3D modeling or comparison to a master. The laser can also be used as an extremely
accurate and fast Z axis probe to take simple measurement for heights and planes.
