5-Axis Probe Head
The 5-axis technology originally
developed for the REVO measurement system is now availlable for touch-trigger
applications. By minimising CMM structure movement through the use of unique
'head touches' , both CMM accuracy and throughput are improved. Using the
extremely rapid rotary motion of the PH20 5-Axis probe head, points can be taken
faster, with improved accuracy and repeatability.
Typical speed increases can result in a 3-fold reduction in cycle time!
Access features at any angle
The 5-axis infinite positioning of the PH20 assures optimal
access to features , minimizing time consuming stylus changes and at the same
time improving accuracy.
The simultaneous 5-axis motion permits the measurement of
larger parts within the same machine volume as the PH20 can be infinitely
indexed while in motion, thus reducing the colume required for head rotation.
Reduced calibration time
The 5-axis Rensihaw PH20 makes use of specially developed 'inferred calibration'.
Both the head orientation and the probe position are determined in a simultaneous operation allowig subsequent measurement using any head orientation.
Only a few touches of the qualification sphere are required to perform a calibration.
If additional accuracy is required, the PH20 can be calibrated in the individual orientation required for a particular measuirement routine.
Over a period of time and numerous calibrations, the time savings over conventional probe calibrations can be quite substantial.
TP20 Touch Probe
The 5-axis Rensihaw PH20 makes use an integral TP20 touch-trigger probe. If you are already making use of the industry
standard TP20 line of probing equipment, simply continue using it on the PH20. A
wide array of modules are available for the TP20 and thus the PH20 to provide a
selection of triggering forces, extensions, and directional sensing options. The
